Description
Sunlight peers through saturated leaves over the Pisgah Covered Bridge in Randolph County during fall foliage peak.
North Carolina only has two historic covered birdges. The Bunker Hill Covered Bridge and Pisgah Covered Bridge. I live right down the road from the Pisgah Covered Bridge. In 1911, for a mere $40 the Pisgah Covered Bridge was built. Located in the Uwharrie National Forest, outside of Asheboro. Length, 54 feet. The bridge was washed away in 2003, roughly 90% of the wood was salvaged and the bridge was rebuilt and remains as a historic landmark in the Uwharries of North Carolina.
