Description
An Ibis in flight at sunset at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. In the winter of 2016/17, an estimated 30,000 redheads migrated to and wintered on the refuge. This year was the first year I experienced a costal winter migration on the outer banks of North Carolina. I have been back each year since but never have I seen the number of redheads since this first trip.
